Mitsubishi ASX scores 5/5 EuroNCAP stars

The Mitsubishi ASX has received the highest rating of 5/5 stars in the latest series of crash tests conducted by the independent Euro NCAP(European New Car Assessment Programme) organization.
The version tested was a European unit which was acquired by the organization. Besides the integral features such as the RISE(Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body structure and whiplash-reducing seats which are found on all versions of the ASX, the European specification includes dual front airbags, a knee airbag for the driver and side and curtain airbags as standard. ISOFIX anchorage points are also present.

The EuroNCAP report gave high marks in all the criteria of adult occupant protection (front, side, and rear impacts), child occupant protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist. The latter aspect is now included in the organizations assessments and in the case of the ASX, this relates to the Active Stability Control and Antilock Brake System (with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist).

The ASX has also received a similar result from Australian safety testing ANCAP organization which has the involvement of the governments and motoring groups of Australia and New Zealand.
