Mitsubishi Lancer GT 2.0

Now into its 9th generation, the all-new Lancer has grown up with a larger – much sleeker - body and a higher engine capacity of 2.0L. With a shape not unlike the Concept X unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show 2005, the tester unit in Red Mica Metallic had this writer awed the moment he encountered it in the metal. With a unique convex-concave (different from the Galant Sigmas) contour, the Lancer' headlamps are menacing with an intense ‘stare’. The A-pillars are less frontal based-pillared, rendering the Lancer GT a more laid-back balanced profile and stance.

It continues to be powered by the 2.0 liter 4B11 engine producing 155 PS and 199Nm of torque, mated to an INVECS-III CVT transmission with paddle shifts that allow you to swap between the CVT’s 6 predefined virtual ratios. The 2.0 GT also features ABS, EBD, dual two-stage front airbags, disc brakes all-round, Nappa leather seats that fold 60:40 at the rear, and a 6-speaker CD and MP3 sound system with steering wheel controls.

Only three colours are available – White Solid, Black Mica and Red Metallic.  The Lancer 2.0 GT is only available with the INVECS-III CVT transmission. However, it makes up for it somewhat with 6 virtual gears that you can cycle through with the steering-mounted magnesium paddle shifters. Suspension consists of a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear.

On the interior, you have a Touch Screen Audio System with a 6-speaker audio system and build in USB jack,You can play your favorites music file , steering wheel audio controls, and fully automatic single zone air conditioning. The Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT comes with sporty leather seats – the leather used is Nappa leather which is a premium leather. The Lancer 2.0 GT’s also got build in Auto light & Auto Rain Sensor
This sensor automatically activates the wipers at the first sign of rain. It can also be set to turn on the headlamps when things turn dark, front seats have sensors built into them – these work hand in hand with the SRS airbag system, feeding the airbag deployment logic data on the driver’s seat position and the front passenger’s weight. Other than the two front SRS airbags, the Lancer 2.0 GT also has anti-lock brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution,

With a large rear spoiler, gorgeous 18” alloys plus a well-made and fitted original bodykit, the new Lancer looked fast even when standing still.
